BIRDS & BLOOMS
Guest speaker, Gerry Duggan, will be on hand to speak about BIRDS & BLOOMS. He promises to be chatty and low-key, so bring your notepad and pen, Q&A are free. But you’ll soon see, the man knows his bumblebees and chickadees.

Community FAIR - 10am - 1pm
We will be represented at this year's Community Fair which is being held in the parking lot next to the July 4th Building on Saturday, September 25 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. We will have information about the Garden Club and ask if anyone would like to help/volunteer their time and speak to fellow Wilmington residents to encourage them to join our club. This is great opportunity to increase our membership! The Community Fair's goal in hosting such an event is "to connect Wilmington residents with a network of service organizations in the area. In the event of rain, the event will be canceled.

POTTERY WORKSHOP
This workshop will involve you painting your own pottery! Hosted by Glazed out of Gloucester, MA members will choose a piece of pottery in advance (vase, bowl, or flower pot) and on the evening of the program, everyone will piant their selection using real pottery glaze. The pieces will be brought back to the Glazed Studio, fired in the kiln and returned to us for distribution in February. All finished ceramics are food, microwave and dishwasher safe.

This month we will be joined by Elaine England from New England Nurseries to discuss how to care for, transplant and propagate house plants. This meeting may take place at the Wilmington Publice Library so more information will follow. Please check your newsletter for details.

CONTAINER GARDENING
Lisa Fox of Fox's Flower Boxes in Salem, MA will demonstrate the are of creating a balanced design for a flower box and planter. With texture, color and motion in mind, Lisa's style tends toward delicate arrangements. In this demonstration she will be combining spring bulbs, herbs, spring flowers, greens and some dried elements. Lisa will also have a short slide show of some of her work.
