About Us
The Wilmington Garden Club was established in 1989 and Federated in 1991. The objective of our club is to encourage interest in all phases of home gardening, promote better horticulture practices, and encourage civic beautification and conservation of natural resources.
The Wilmington Garden Club is a member of The National Council of State Garden Clubs, Inc. and the Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts.
Currently, we have 34 members of the Wilmington Community who meet once a month on the second Thursday of every month in the July 4th Building at 7:30pm. The Garden Club calendar runs September through June. The Board members meet on the 4th Thursday of the month.
Typically, the meetings run about 2 hours. The first half of the meetings address garden club business related items. There is a hospitality committee who provides coffee and desserts for each meeting. The second half of the meetings will include a speaker presenting on a gardening theme of the month or the members will join in a hands-on gardening craft. See our Calendar of Events page for monthly programs. Also, there is usually a plant raffle at every meeting.
